HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. WELLINGTI Tuesday. The High Commissioner cables under dale, London, February 12, as follows : ■ Meat. —Home killed prices have declined owing to large supply of chilled Beef. Average, prices arc Beef, Is sd; million. Is Od; and lamb, 2s Old per 18. Chilled Beef fores are realising Bd. but hinds vary from 10Ad to Is 18. New Zealand Beef shows a rcfluccd demand. For lids reason New Zealand lamb and light-weight mutton are in active demand at full prices. A moderate quantity of Dutch pork is on Hie market, and is in good demand at Is 4ti per lb. Butter. —Irish, new made, unsalted creamery is selling at £t7 10s per cwt (Its ltd per lb). Irish, ex stores, £ll per cwt (2s 6d lb). The price of Danish, for this country, last week j was £ll 6s per cwt (2s Hi) f.o.b. For Government butter there is no change in price at £li 18s 8d per cwt wholesale: and 5s per th retail; Imt some retailers arc selling at 2s lod and 2s I Id per 11). Gheose. —The market remains unchanged. Canadian is selling at £7 1 Is In £7 18s per cwt (Is 4ld to Is 4jd lb) for white, and £7 18s and £8 per cwt (approx, ts 5d It)) for coloured.
