A TRAM SMASH
BRAKES FAIL TO ACT. ON A STEEP INCLINE. FIFTEEN PERSONS INJURED. (United Press Association.) Received February 8, 9.25 a.m. SYDNEY, February 8. A tram smash in North Sydney resulted in fifteen persons being injured. Six are detained at the hospital. The brakes failed at a steep incline, and the runaway jumped the rails and crashed into a loaded car, travelling in the opposite direction.
