GERMAN PROTESTS
ORGANISING RESISTANCE. TO ENSLAVEMENT OF WORKERS. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.' Received February 7, 3.5 p.m. BERLIN, February 6. Resistance to the Allies' claims is being widely organised. The Premiers of the German States ai-rembled in Berlin have conferred with the President, Ilerr Ebert, who agreed to uphold the standpoint of the Imperial Government. A conference of 200 representing the fades' unions adopted,a similar resolution. Meetings have also been held in the provinces, when it was resolved to protest against the enslavement of Herman workmen for the benefit of the Allies. GOVERNMENT WILL RESIGN BEFORE ACCEPTING TERMS. Received February 7, 7.35 p.m. BERLIN, February 7. Herr Simons, in an interview, said that the Government adhered to his view regarding reparations, and were prepared to resign if necessary. He thought any Government must adopt the same attitude.
