Langdon. This paper asserts that this is being done to avoir! troublesome diplomatic complications witii the United States and to court the goodwill of the American Government. The leading inhabitants of the village of Kochi, which is the sentry's home, are co-operating with the prefecture, and they have organised an association to obtain national support for the cause of the sentry, who is declared to have faithfully discharged his duty.
