PARLIAMENTARY TOUR

OPOTIKI DISSATISFIED WITH THE ITINERARY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) OPOTIKI Saturday. The County Council, fit a meeting yesterday, considered the proposed itinerary of the Parliamentary tour as altogether unsatisfactory as far as Opotiki is concerned, as t lie party will only arrive in the evening and depart next morning. The canvassers reported thai, it was impossible to get subscriptions on this account. The* Council was unanimous that, unless the party hod time to inspect various parts of the districl where Government works are urgently needed, particularly the Motu and Raukokore Rivers. where bridges are urgently needed and where there has been considerable loss of life, the visit will be useless to the Opotiki district. It was decided not to contribute unless the necessary amendments were made In the itinerary.
