Through a misunderstanding, Wooley was run out, and Douglas succumbed to Marsden without scoring. Armstrong took the ball, but the ■core steadily mounted. Hendren, who played a steady, chanceless innings, was bowled by Hornibrook when near his century. He batted 182 minutes, and hit 10 fours. The last batsmen "played out time.
