CHRISTCHURCH WAR MEMORIAL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association. 1 CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. The City Council last night refused an application front a responsible body of citizens for permission to erect a war memorial column In Cathedral . Square. A motion that a plebiscite vote be taken on several memorial pioposals now under consideration was not seconded. The Mayor and several councillors strongly urged general support for the Soldiers’ Hall of Memories scheme.
