WAGES AND HOURS.

A" sitting of the Conciliation Council, under the presidency "of Mr T. Harle Giles, Northern Commissioner, is being held at Hamilton to-daj', to consider the country private hotel employees' dispute. The assessors for the employers are Messrs T. Frost, 8. E. Wright, and J. Duffy, and for the employees Messrs A. Jackson, H. O'Mailey, and P. Peacock. *The principal concessions suuylit by the employees are an eight-hour day, one day off in every seven, a wage of ;-!2s '3d per week for the lowest paid girl in any establishment, and for other general conditions as exisliug in the Wellington Industrial district private hotels.
After discussion it was decided - : - adjoum the further Hearing of the dispute until after the sitting on the Auckland Hotel employees' dispute.
