The official counts for 46 districts, together witli the preliminary counts for the remaining 22 districts, give the following totals in (lie licensing polls: State Purchase ■. 31,603 Continuance •. 238,569 Prohibition 267,475 Majority against Pro... 2,697 The districts for which the official counts have not yet been received are as follows—Parnell, Franklin, Rotorua, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Taranaki, Patea, Palmerston, Maiawatu, Wanganui, Waitomo, Wairarapa, Wellington South, Nelson, Motueka, Westland, Hurunui, Kaiapoi, Wakitipu, Bruce, Glulha, and Awarua. The absent voters’ permits and seamen’s rights still to be accounted for number rather more than 4000, and tiiere are also 989 soldiers’ votes cast aboard transports and at sea to be counted. Later. The latest official figures give the Prohibition minority as 2969.
