The death is announced from Dunedin of Mr Alexander Burt, one of the founders of the firm of Messrs A. and T. Burt, ironfounders, aged 79. Deceased arrived in Ota go in 1861. ; The death occurred on Wednesday' at Morrinsville ot Mr Henry Gant, aged 63 years, one of the oldest residents of the township. Mr Gant came from Yorkshire, and settled in Morrinsville 35 years ago. He leaves a. wife and two children.
