DRIED MILK INDUSTRY

THE MORRINSVILLE SIDING. i DEPUTATION TO MR MASSEY.. THE WORK TO BE DONE. (By Telegraph".—Special to Times.) MORRINSVILLE, Monday. The refusal of the Railway Department to grant a siding for 'the Morrinsville dried milk factory resulted in a large number of telegrams of protest being forwarded to the Minister of j Railways and the Hon. W. H. Herries in connection with the matter. On Saturday Mr Massey forwarded a telegram that the siding involved the question of a very extensive re-, arrangement of the station yard, and the possible relocation of the same, but tiie matter was being expedited -is much as possible. 4 Replies were sent to this message, pointing out that the reason givon oy the engineer for not allowing Ithe siding to be put in had been the excuses advanced during the past four year for _ declining to carry out any improvements to the station.

On Saturday night Mr Massey stopped at ftforrinsville, as he was motoring .through to Frankton, and received a large deputation on the matter. The importance of the position was pointed out to the Minister, and further that until the siding Was put in, .the material for building could not be put •n the site. The Minister received the deputation very favourably and assured them that they would get the siding, and that on his return to Wellington he would go into the matter.
