WAIKATO JERSEY BREEDERS

MEETING AT TE AWAMUTU. On Saturday evening a meeting ol the Waikato Jerse|y Cattle Breeders was' held at Te Awamutu. Messrs A., E. Missen, President, A. E. Clark, Church and Moreland, and the secretary, Mr W. H. Paul represented Hamilton. Te Awamutu and surroundin districts were well represented. Mr Missen occupied the chair, and crave a brief outline of the progress that had been made with the Jersey Breeders of Waikato, the'society beUie.second strongest in New Zear land. He also explained that previously most of the meetings of the Waikato society had been held in nam-j ilton, but at the annual meeting, heiu in October last, it had been decided to hold meetings in different parts of the district in order to sustain interest in the Society. Messrs F. D. McGovern, W. Pernu, S. Clark Houston, P. Doyle, Geo. Reynolds, J. Shaw, W. Scott, W. Germann, p. Quinn, A. H. Storey, A. .Signal, K. Cobb, A. Wj. Jones, W. aollister and A. Edwards were elected new members. It was unanimously agreed that returned soldiers be allowed to become i members of the Waikato Society for three years free I It was decided to support the sug- j gestion which has been made to ask the! New Zealand Association to make quirios regarding the standard of bulls j that were obtainable cither from England or from Jersey Islami. Thjj Association is in funds to the extent ; of some thousands of pounds, and the I meeting was in favour of importing the | highest possible grade of bulls that is obtainable and have thenuallocated to the different districts. It was decided to hold, the annual meeting of the New Zealand Jersey Breeders in Hamilton on Wednesday, June 2, Winter Show week, and that visitors be taken by motor to Te Awamutu on Thursday, June 3. where they will be suitably entertained. A vote of thanks to the Hamilton .j representatives and also to Messrs-. Potts and Pollard concluded the business of the meeting.
