GRAVES OF THE FALLEN. AUSTRALIAN CARETAKERS. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, August 7. Fifty Australians, who have seen service, have been permanently appointed as caretakers of Australian cemeteries, which German prisoners and British Labour corps are now fencing and paving. Two officers will be permanently stationed at St. Omer and Amiens to inspect Australian cemeteries, and make representations to the Imperial War Graves' Commission. A DIFFICULTY ADJUSTED. (United Press Association.) BRISBANE, August 8. , The difficulty between the colliery proprietors and the Government in regard to coal prices has been adjusted. LESSONS OF THE WAR. (United Press Association.') MELBOURNE, August 8. In the House of Representatives, i v Jr W. A. Watt stated that one of the lesson learned during the war was that a re-casting of the constitution was necessary. NO CONFIDENCE MOTION. (United Press Association.) PERTH, August 8. In the Assembly, Mr Collier moved an amendment to the Address-in-Repiy stating that the House had no confidence in the Government.
