SENTENCES ON RIOTERS. IMPRISONMENT OR TRANSPORTATION. £IOO,OOO DAMAGE TO RAILWAYS. IN THE NORTH-WEST PROVINCE* (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received May 3, 12.45 a.m. LONDON. May 2. Sixteen persons implicated in the Punjab riots- have been sentenced to imprisonment or transportation in terms varying from life sentences to seven months. In the North-west Province the damogf to the railways during the riots is estimated at £IOO,OOO.
