The Belgians have presented a Note pointing out that 7,000,000,000 marks which Germany compelled them to ac'cept during the war at 125 centimes per mark are now worth onl.y one-thu-d of that sum. OUTSIDE ASSISTANCE IMPERATIVE. FOR RESTORATION OF INDUSTRIES^ APPEAL TO ALLIED PARLIA- - MENTS. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received May 3. 9.10 ans. LONDON, May 1. Brussels messages emphasise Ih* urgency of the restoration of Belgian/ industries, and outs'de assistance is stated to be imperative. The Premier, who hrs returned from Paris, stated that Bels-iurn's reparation would appear in the Peace Treaty, but they could not expect immediate payment. The Senate has decided to appeal to Britain and the Allied Parliaments 1 to redeem their promises of prompt and complete reparation.
