PERSONAL
Hon. W. H. Herries (Minister of Railways) was at Matamata yesterday. He had a motor tour round the district in the morning, and was present at the annual race gathering in the centre during the afternoon. The Minister, who was accompanied by one of his secretaries (Mr L. Johnson), went on to Te Aroha in the evening. To-day he goes to Auckland to be present at the welcome to the returning Maori contingent.
