There was a full yarding of pigs, a keen demand, with values well up to last week's extreme figures. The Xew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report: — At our weekly Westfield i'at stork market on Wednesday beef was yarded in average numbers, mostly of exceptionally good quality, although no extra heavy weights were penned. Competition was very keen at last week's ratas, choice oxen selling to £2 12s per 1001b; other, £2 7s to £2 lis; cow and heifer beef, £2 2s to £2 9s; steers ranged in price from £l7 10s to £2O 17s 6d; cows and heifers, from £8 10s to £l6. Some of the averages were: Twenty steers from Mr Bobert Clark, Sea Grove, Waiau Pa, £2O 8s; eight from Sir Benjamin Reid, Waerenga, £2O Is Cd; 24 from Mr George Ingster, West Coast, £l9 6s; 16 from Mr James Dore, East Coast, £lB lis 3d; 22 from same district, £lB 6s Id; eight small steers from Mr James Given, Pollock, £l7 7s S;l; seven choice heifers from Mr Do'.'e, £l4; five steers from Mr R. Clark, Karaka, £lB 17s Gd. Calves came forward iu large numbers. Vealers sold up to last week's high prices; runners were a shade easier. A number of inferior fatted calves were entered. Runnels made from £6 5s to £lO for a heifer fattened by Mr H. Ellett, Mangere; heavy veulers sold from £4 17s (id to £5 17s 6d; medium, £3 7s 6d to £4 15s; light, £1 15s to £3 6s; small and freshdropped, 3s to 325. Sheep came forward in small numbers, the majority being unfinished. Good sheep were wanted, and sold firm at late advanced prieps. Best wethers, £1 19s to £2 Is 3d; good, £1 16s to £1 18s 6d; medium, £1 13s to £1 15s 6d; unfinished, £1 10s 3d to £1 12s Cd. Ewes: Best, £1 lis !o £1 18s; good, £1 8s to £1 10s 9d; light, £1 4s to £1 7s 6d; unfinished, 10s to £1 3s 9d Lambs were penned in average numbers, selling freely at late quotations, best making £1 7s to £1 lis; medium, £1 4s to £1 6s 6d; lighter, 19s to £1 3s 6d. Pigs were yarded in average numbers, and sold at late extreme rates. Medium baconers. £4 16s to £5 10s; porkers, large. £3 10s to £4 12s 6d; medium. £2 13s to £3 8s; small. £1 17s 6d to £2 12s (Jd - slips, £1 2s 6d to £1 15s.

Messrs Dalgety and Company, Lt<l., report having held their weekly sale of fat stock at Westfield on Wednesday as under: —Beef: A fair yarding, which sold at the same as last week. Extra prime ox sold at up to £2 12s; ordinary quality, £2 8s to £2 10s; cow and heifer beef, 43s to 475. Veal: A good yarding, and prices were slightly easier than last week. Extra heavy runners ma'le up to £7 10s; heavy suckers, £3 to £4; small, 15s to 255. Mutton: A moderate yarding. Primo wethers sold at up to £2 6s, for extra heavy; medium weight, 30s 9d to 375; prime ewes, up to 355; store ewes, 15s to 235. Lamb: A fair yarding. Good lines woolly made up to 28s; shorn up to 28s; others, 15s to 20s. Pork: Somewhat firmer. Fair yarding. Choppers made £5 to £6 10s; baconers, £4 to £4 10s; porkers, £2 to £3.
