ATTACKS ON THE FRENCH
DELIVERED IN GREAT STRENGTH. NEW ENEMY TROOPS ENGAGED. (Renter's Telegrams.) Received April 27, 9.55 a.m. LONDON, April 26. Reuter's correspondent at British headquarters, writing yesterday evening, says that in the last two nights the enemy attacked i the French around Pranoutre iu strength. Six battalions gained a temporary advantage, but were driven back by .counter-attacks. This morning a much 'We&Vlor nssault was delivered by if-uur to s« divisions over a front of seven miles on the line from to RaillcUji ,and Wytschaete.: Alpine Corps', %e'lull Bavarians and 117 th conslsti'ng of mountain troops, were engaged with .lager regiments supporting, and an entirely fresh division (the 56th) have been identified. The attack overlapped on our front on the right flank of the French.
