Successful Australian and English counter-attacks last night regained the positions in and around the village of Villers Bretonneux and advanced our line to within a short distance of the former front. We took over 600 prisoners and the village is now in our hands. The enemy employed at least four divisions in the attack on this front. The prisoners state that the objectives included Cachy village and the Caehy-Foiulloy road, but the objectives were not reached any. where. The numbers of dead found in the recaptured positions show that the enemy's losses were very heavy. THE AIR FIGHTING. (Ausirahan and N.Z. and Reuter.) Received April 27, 11.20 a.m. LONDON, April 27.
