WOOL IN AMERICA. (Australian and N.Z.-Cable Assn.) Received April 2(3, 9.30 o.m NEW YORK, April 26. The United Press states that th« Government will take measures to control the wooi industry,x but the details have not yet been announced. Another message states that the wool glowers at a conference agreed to offer the Government the entire wool output of the United States based «n prices ruling last July. This action will probably avert commandeering. A BANKING UNION. (Reuter's Telegrams.) Received April 26, 9 p.m. MADRID, April 26. An agreement for a consortium of the Spanish banks, representing a capital of £2,000,000, and including banking firms in Madrid, Balbao, and Barcelona, has been signed with France and the United States. CHURCH UNION. ADVOCATED BY BAPTISTS. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received Adhl 27, 8.45 a.m. LONDON, April 26. With only a dozen dissentients, the Baptist Union voted in favour of closer federation with the other free churches.
