THE IRISH PROBLEM
FEDERAL SCHEME FAVOURED (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received April 26, 7.45 p.m. LONDON, April 26. A largely attended meeting of Unionist members of the Houses of Cora. nous and Lords passed a- resolution in favour of a Federal Home Rule scheme with a reservation that Ulster should be treated as a separate unit in the general*scheme. Welsh and Scottish meml)ers are actively advocating devolution to federal Parliaments, which the Irish Home Rule Committee are making the basis of their proposals.
NATIONALISTS AND SINN FEINERS. SIGNS OF DISRUPTION. (The Times.) Received April 26, 7.45 n.m. LONDON, April 25. The Times' Dublin correspondent states that symptoms of disintegration are already apparent in the National-ist-Sinn Fein alliance. The Nationalists resent the nomination and will oppose the Sinn Fein candidate in the? East Cavan election. The carrying and keeping of arms in the southern and western counties have now been prohibited.
