TRIAL BY COURT-MARTIAL. PROVISIONS OF APPEAL. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, April 23. Tbe Government has added a clause to the Army Bill giving officers and men the right of appeal before the death sentence of a court-martial is confirmed, also that any officor or soldier, asked to resign his commission, who is aggrieved, may have the right to appeal before a member of the Army Council. AUSTRALIA'S ZINC OUTPUT. PURCHASED HY THE IMPERIAL GOVERNMENT. (United Service.) MELBOURNE, April 24. Mr Hughes has announced that a contract has been arranged with the British Government, whereby practically the whole of the zinc concentrates produced in Australia during the period of the war and for ten years after will be purchased by the Imperial Government.
