The Austrian battleship Wien, 5550 tons, was torpedoed on Sunday. Most of the crew of 450 were saved.

The Wien, which was completed in 1897, cost £397,850. She was 305 ft in length and had a speed of 17.6 knots. Her armour belt was hardened steel, with 2.6 in deck and 4Jin above the belt. She carried four JK4in, six 5.9 in, twelve I.Bin, and six machine guns, and had four torpedo tubes.
