CHEVROLET CAR PERFORMANCE. Considerable interest has been aroused in motor circles by Mr Ranger's wonderful trip from Christchurch to Dunedin and back in a "Chevrolet" car. An average speed of 32£ miles per hour. One feature of this record trip was the extraordinary low consumption ot benzine, the average for the whole trip being 29 miles to the gallon. The entire journey was made on top gear, with one exception, Mr Ranger having to change clown to second gear at the top of Cargill Hill, the surface ; eing exceptionally bad.

No mechanical trouble of any kind was experienced, and despite the high speed and bad roads the springs were in'perfect order at the end of the trip. This record-breaking journey undoubtedly proves the sturdiuess and reba'.i ity (f the "Chevrolet" c;.:,
