FLEEING BEFORE ROUMANIAN AVALANCHE
ENEMY'S RESISTANCE EVERYWHERE SHATTERED. NINE GERMAN DIVISIONS DESPATCHED FROM FRANCE. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received September 1, 9.5 p.m. ROME, Sept. 1. The Roumanian Legation states that the resistance of the enemy has everywhere been shattered. Our army has penetrated deeply into Hungarian territory. The reports regarding the concentration uf large enemy armies in Transylvania are mere bluff. BUDAPEST, Sept. 1. The newspapes declare that the invading forces outnumber the Hungarians by four to one. The Turkish help is practically valueless. BUCHAREST, Sept. 1. Messages state that the Hungarians are lleeing before the Roumanian avalanche. The Hungarians are clamouring for the concentration of Hungarian troops to defend Hungary. The relations with Austria are approaching a crisis. PARIS, September i. Mr Warner Allen states that Germany has despatched to Roumania nine divisions from France, although the Germans are greatly outnumbered on the Somme.
