ROTOTUNA. Church Anniversary. The fifth anniversary of the Rotoluna Sunday-school was celebrated in the local church on Sunday last. Despite the inclemency of the weather, Hi ere was almost a full attendance of the scholars, hut the, adul! portion of the community was not as well repreI rented. Hew T. .1. Walks occupied j the pulpit, am! preached an abb', inter- . esting and instructive sermon from the i words "Wilt Thou not from this time cry unto in": my Father, Thou art the ! guide of my youth." The singing of j bright suitable hymns by the scholars ! was a feature of the service, the ehildI l'.-n having Deeri carefully trained for I [he occasion. Mrs Swain presided at !tl rgan, and Miss Elsie Missen rcn- ! dereil Ihe solo "Don't Sneer at a -! Brother." Dairying Season. I The dairying season has re-opened, j and the creamery is running daily with ; a somewhat limited supply of milk. j The weather during the past week has I been cold and wet, fine days being very ■ ran\ and in consequence there is little ! or no growth, and cows are not start- ' ing the season as well as could be , wished. Farm?ers are doing the best j they can for stock, and continue feedI ing with hay, etc., but the animals ! suffer considerably from the present : weather conditions. The opinion is | general that calves will be at a preI mium, and it is probable that a much | larger number will be reared than of i late years. Roads. j The incessant rams nave iiatl a bad I effect on the roads, some being almost ' impassable.
