rated at W iliow Bridge school. He was the second son of Mr .John Pascoe, of
Frankton. He took a keen interest in boxing matters. A brother is 'at present engaged with the forces in Franco. Private Pascoe was employed by Messrs Ellis and Burnand, at Aiananui, .at the time of his enlistment.

Omihi, whose death in action in France was announced yesterday, was educated at Christ's College, and afterwards worked for some time as a clerk in the Bank ot New Zealand, and was stationed at Hamilton. Later he joined his brother, Walter, farming in Argentine. Soon alter the outbreak of the war he went lo London and obtained a commission in the Imperial Army, being appointed to the Wiltshire Regiment.
Mr E. J. Early, engineer to the Matamata County Council, died at the Auckland hospital yesterday morning. Mr Early entered the hospital some weeks ago to undergo an operation for an interna! complaint, but he gradually sank after the operation, and passed away as indicated. Mr Early, who was 44 years of age, and a native of Canterbury, was well known in the King Country and Waikato, having for many years been road inspector under the Public Works Department. Four years ago he was appointed engineer to the Matamata County Council. He leaves a young widow, a daughter of Mr W. S. Short, Cnder-Secretarv for Public Works.
