COAL STRIKE SETTLEMENT

HOW IT WAS REACHED. .MINISTERS MEDIATION. LONDON, July 21. Mr Lloyd George, nn Monday induced the miners' executive ■to formulate new proposals. The Cabinet Ministers laid them before the masters on Tuesday morning. The masters assembled in one room of a hotel, while the miners' executive met in another room. The Ministers moved betwen the two until the executive promised to recommend terms to to-day's conference for settlement. The executive further promised to recommend the men to work on August hank holiday to help to overtake the shortage. Strike penalties which the strikers have incurred under the Munitions Act will he waived.
