APPRENTICE'S SUICIDE.
AH ORIGINAL METHOD. Received June 25, 9.30 a.m. SYDNEY, June 25, An extraordinary suicide occurred during the voyage of the Willesden from Buenos Aires. An apprentice named G. Lyon climbed the iron ladder of the funnel, and when he reached the top paused and dived headlong down the inside of the funnel. It is estimated that he must have fallen 70ft into the smokebox at a temperature of GOO degrees.
