A TRIPLE MURDER CHARGE

DROWNED IN A BATH.

A CALLOUS CRIMINAL. Received June 24, 1.1 a.m. LONDON, June 24. At the trial of Smith at the Old Bailey for the murder of three women, Mr Bodkin, prosecuting, said there was a simple and terribly effective way of drowning a person in a bath. If someone lifted the legs the trunk and body would slide down the sloping part, and there would be almost immediate unconsciousness followed by a rapid and silent death. Mundy's legs were found against the top of the bath. She was 68 inches, while 'he bath was 44 inches at the bottom and 60 at the top.
