Cl'IY LEFT TO MERCY OF THE .MOB. ITALIAN BUILDINGS SACKED AND SET ON FIRE. ROME, .May 29. I lie Austrian authorities at Trieste have lied, leaving the city to the mercy of the mo!>. The mob sacked and lired Italian buildings, commencing with the offices of the Irredentist newspaper, Piccolo. The stall' barely escaped with their lives. Afterwards ferocious vandalism was general. Enormous destruction took place with the connivance of the gendarmes.
AIR RAID ON VENICE. BOMBS DROPPED IN ST. MARK'S SQUARE. PARIS, May 29. Iwo Austrian Taubs dropped bombs on St. .Mark's Square, Venice. The bombs fell into water. Artillery drove off the raiders.
