Enormous destruction took place with the connivance of the gendarmes.

AIR RAID ON VENICE. BOMBS DROPPED IN ST. MARK'S SQUARE. PARIS, May 29. Iwo Austrian Taubs dropped bombs on St. .Mark's Square, Venice. The bombs fell into water. Artillery drove off the raiders.
