THE ITALIAN CAMPAIGN.

HELD TO THE LAST. EFFECTIVE ITALIAN ARTILLERY. Received May 30, 11.30 a.m. ROME, May 29. A lieutenant with 85 men was ordered to hold a passage at Arnouelley against a company of Bavarians. Sixty of the Italians fell, and the position was most precarious, the lieutenant being riddled with bullets when assistance arrived. The feat enabled the Italians to advance ten kilometres. Italy's new 75's are remarkable for their precision. They silenced a battery of twelve-incliers served at Filitch by Bavarians, many of whom were lulled.
