ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES

A serious Masting accident occurred at Patutalii Quarry tliis afternoon. James Green, foreman of the quarry, aged 40, and married, and Archie Bugden, 30, a single man, were putting in a charge on top of a 2(>(Mt face, when a premature explosion took place, toppling both men over the di(t', whence they rolled 200 ft down a slope. Both were badly cut, and very seriously burned by the explosion. It is I eared that (iiven will lose his eyesight. Dt'NKDIN, Wednesday. A painful accident happened to-day to .Miss Until Wehh, 20 years oi age. employed at the Roslyn Woollen Mills. At closing time she was sitting on the edge of a table, presumahly attending to her hair, which became enfolded in a working spindle. The skin and hair on her head and over one eyebrow were wrenched off. She was removed to the hospital, where an operation was performed, and to-night she was doing as well a* could be expected. DCNKDIN, Thursday. The body of a man about 3o years of age, apparently a waterside worker, was found floating in the harbour this morning near the Victoria wharf. It had onlv been in the water a lew davs.
