STRATFORD, Monday. A three-year-old child, the daughter of Mr J. Edwards, wandered' from home this morning and was •drowned in the lake in Victoria Park.

KILLED BY BALLAST TRAIN. AUCKLAND, Monday. Robert Johnson, a workman employes on the Kawakawa-Kokohe railway extension fell off a ballast truck, three trucks running over him, end he was killed instantly.
