Twenty bags of letters were conveyed from Hendom to Windsor by three aviators despite a thick mist. The service will be continued on Saturday.
TRANS-CONTINENTAL FLIGHT
A SUDDEN CONCLUSION
(Received Sept. 13, 2.35 p.m.) SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 12, Fowler, the aviator, in attempting to cross the Sierras fell, through the rudder failing to work. The aero, plane was wrecked but Fowler escaped with a few bruises.
AEROPLANIST KILLED
A FALL AT YERSEILLES
(Received Sept. 14, 9.50 a.m.) PARIS, Sept. 13
Lieutenant Chantrad fell while a-eroplaning at Versailles and was killed.
ANOTHER ACCIDENT,

Vedrines, the well-known ?viator, fell at Hericourt and waa seriously injured.
AIRSHIP ON FIRE
A GERMAN MISHAP.

During the German army manoeuvres near Demmen an airship was destroyed by fire. The crew escaped.
LADY'S LONG FLIGHT
PARIS, Sept. 13. Mademoiselle H<dene Durtieu has aeroplaned 143 miles to Chalons, winning the Femina cup.
ACROSS AMERICA
(Received Sept. 14, 12.29 p.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 13. An aviaiator named James Ward has started on ,a flight to San Francisco for the prize of £IO,OOO. He is folio-wing the line of the Erie railroad.
