HAMILTON HORSE BAZAAR.
There was but a very poor attendance at the meeting of ratepayers held in the Town li.tll yesterday afternoon to consider the proposal to build a horse bazaar at Hamilton.
The Mayor stated that the bazaar would be 360 x 60ft., which would bo suitable for the holding of winter shows aDd similar fixtures. It was not proposed to erect the bazvaron the front section, but on the present sheepyards, and the front acre would be subdivided into about six allotments, which wculd be let for a term of years. Thec-at of the bazaar would be .£2500. the estimated rent of JBISO from the sections would more than cover the interest. Therefore the ratepayers would not bo called upon to pay the extra rate. He thought the accouuts of the aaleyards and horse bv/.anr would about balance each other. Be moved that the Hamilton Borough Couuoil be requested to take a poll of ratepayers upon the question. Cr. Davis had great ploasure in seconding the motion, which, ufter Mr Breckon had briefly spoken to it, waa earned unanimously.
The Mayor intimated that the poll would be taktu on Wedoeslay, January Dth.
