In the House of Commons, Mr Gladstone, replying to Sir C. Dilke, said the Government proposed to send a commission to enquire on the spot regarding the effect of the Wages Board and the compulsory Arbitration Act in Australia and New Zealand, also into the result of the early closing of shops legislation.
