THE HAMILTON CLUB. CHRIST.iI AS TOURNAMENT ARRANGED. The first match of the season for the "Bond ' Stars took placa yasterday afternoon on the Hamilton Bowling Club's green. In accordance with custom, the President defended, but was foroed to strike his colours to the challengers. The President's team consisted of Messrs Darke, O'Neill, Sandes, and Varaey (skip), and' the challengers were Messrs Forrest, Biavan, Biteman and Pearson. At the ttfth head Pearson stool 8-3, and at tin tenth 12—8. At the fifteenth head the score was 14 all. On the 20th head 21—20 was the score. Pearsuu eventually won by 25 to 20. The holders of the Stars have been challenged by a rink to be skipped by llr J. S. Bind, the contest to take place on Wednesday next. It is extremely unlikely th*t the winners will be allowed to rest on their laurels long.
A match in the first year players' singles was played: Jines 22 beating Tyler 20. The only other full rink g.ime was: Chippell, Warren, Wilson, Manning (skip) 26, v Houghton, Booth, Parr and Bond (skip) 22. It has been decided to hold a toarnament at Hamilton on Boxing Day and December 27; a strong committee has been formed and an attractive and comprehensive programme drafted. Given the co-operation of Clubs in Aucklaui, and other country clubs, a most successful meeting is assured.
