♦ —— On Wednesday night next tho evergreen Montgomery Co. of pictures and entertainers will mak>s a positively one night appearance at the Town Hall. Mr Montgomery has probably enjoyed a longer run of successful business in New Zealand than any other in the profession. The secret of his consistent success is probably du-> to his establishing a reputation, and fully maintaining same, of always putting on c ean, bright and attractive programmes, calculate! to suit all tastes. Entertain ments consisting only of pictorial portrayals are apt to become monotonous, . so Mr Montgomery very freely intersperses musical items, songs, ballad?, and humorous sk6tche3. During the forthcoming visit the management promisrs exceptionally attractive vocal contributions, recommending with the utmoßt confidence, Mr W. H. Montgomery, the | eminent English baritone, of whise singing I our exchanges speak in the highest terms of praise. Mr W. H. Montgomery is a brother of the proprietor of thecimpany, and is a recent arrival in the colony from London. He his during the last few years filled many important rotes on the English operatio stage, and was associated with such companies as the D'Oyley Carte Co. and the Rouseby Grand Opera Co , both of which eDjoy a world wide reputition. A host of novelties in animated pictures will be presented, also several new very beautifully illustrated songs and ballads, while oomib items will als > find a place in a very liberal bill of fare to be pro vided.
