-— *- — ANNUAL SHOW. The fifteenth annual show of the Waikato Agricultural and Pastoral Association opened to-day at the Ciaudelands showgrounds, where the judging commenced at 10 o'clock, and has at the time of £o : cg to press made good headway. The entries tor mv>y successive years in the ascendant, constitute a record in the histury of the Association, biting this year almost 100 more than the previous year. The various live stock classes, as is usual, are the main feature of the show, the quality this year being in no degree inferior to that of previous shows. In many departments a distinct advance is shown. There is a very noticeable increase in the number of exhibits in the home industries and cooking sections, and the benches laden with the latter refl j ot great credit on the culinary skill of the houstwives of the Waikato. The implement exhibits are again representative of the best known firms of the colony, and in them the farmers will note toe progress made duriDg the year and p rfeotiug farm machinery. The town commenced to fill with visitors yesterday.and the night ti a n from Auckland oiought la a large number from the northern districts. At present all the weather indications are m>st favourable, and there is every reason to anticipate that the attendance as well as tho number of entries, will this year cjnstitutd a record.
