A COMPLAINT.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I have, or rather had. a good well of water, frjm whxh myself, and often others, when their tanks were exhausted in the dry season, obtained our water supply. I was annoyed to fiud, on my return after an absence of a few days from home, that something had been buried close to my well. On inquiry, I found that the adjjining neighbour had buried an animal, viz., a bull ciif, two years old, or theieabouts. I sent my son to ask her to have it removed, on account of polluting the water, iwo days later I sent again, and as I find neither the police or nuisance inspector can do anything outside the Borough, will you kindly tell me who is the proper person tu apply to ? 1 am told that Icm take a civil action for damages for the loss of my water supply. What 1 want is to have the beast removed as soon as possible, as if allowed to remain, it will keep the water impure for years through the bones. —I am, etc.,
ROSE MASON. Kirikiriroa. [We advise our correspondent to write to Dr. Frengley, District Health Officer, Auckland, and also to the Waikato County Council. Both the District Health Officer and the Countil have power to deal with nuisances.—Ed. W. T.j
