NOXIOUS WEEDS

(By leleorai'h —Special to the Waikato Times). WELLINGTON, This Day. Mr Greenslade has interviewed Ministers re various matters brought under his notice by Mr Basil Hewr-tt, Chairman of the Ragian County Council, including the Maori dog tax, collecting iates on native iands, and the sprea ting of noxious weeds ou Crown and native lands. In this latter matter the Couucd point out that the Stock Department is doing all it can with the amount of money and Inspectors at its disposal, but it is thought that in so serious i question the Government should find more money for the Department to allow f a larger staff of Inspectors, as it is a disgrace that both Crown and native lands should be neglected and be the means of the spread of noxious weeds. The Minister has promised to look into the whole matter. ■*
