FOOTBALL.
HAMILTON RUGBY UNION. The football season iu Hamilton will be formally opened on Saturday noxt, when the No 1 and Suburbs seniors and juniors, will meet in the first round of cap fixtures. Everything points to the season being a most successful one, and the number of footballers has largely increased in the district, and all the clubs will be stronger this year than last, both in numbers and good players. The players to represent the Suburbs seniors will be chosen from the following: Goodwin, Farrelly, Prinoe, Castleton, Hunt, Ellis, Farrer (2), Hope, O'Neill, Dey, Roach, Callaghan, Jlarkin, Windsor, McKee, Ranstead, Barr«Brown. The juniors will be chosen on the ground. 'lhe following represent the No. 1 seniors Full-back, Clarke; thre-quarters, Shepherd, Hughes, Bevery; five-eighths, McQinj half, Russell; wing forwards, Bertram, Harwood; forwards, Wearne, Moore, Crowley, Harwood, Green, Julian, Watt. Emergencies : Tebbs, J. Watt. The following will represent No 1. juniors: Houghton, Pratt, Gibbins, Adams, Mickey, Edwards, Evans, Swartr'ek, Medland, Lawrence, Rowe, Tristram, Osborne, Griffith, McGuire. Emergencies Robinson, Hughes, Jones, J. Brown.
A senior team from the City Club will journey to Taupiri on Saturday next to try conclusions with the Taupiri team. No. 1 are to lose a good man in Shepherd, who has received notice of liia promotion to the Newmarket school.
The weekly meeting of the Managiug Committee of the Union will be held at the Hamilton Hotel at 7.3U o'clock this ovening.
