MR R. G. KNOWLES
A GREAT HUMORIST.
All wi' Ibo delighted at the announcement that Mr R. G. Knowles, the very celebrated comedian, is abnut to visii Hamilton, opening at the Town Hall on Monday next, for one night only. The Wellington Times wrote of liiui "As a wit, as a raconteur and as a particularly original humorist, the great entertainer knows few rivals. The great vigour and torrential glibness with which he reels off his stories, the quaint and wonderful ability of his dances; and the singing of his sougs as he alone knows how, long ago stamped him as one of tho world's brightest artists.'' Mr Knowles recently formulated hispresouc entertainment and the experiences he gathered together during many years of travel are the nucleus of his present brilliantly successful monologue entertainment, " Songs and Stories of the Stage." The performance is said to be brimful of the very best of Mr Knowles' many years of experience, aud as full of brand new jokes and funny stories as a gun charged to the muzzle. Humour is tho key note of the entire performance, and the extraordinary success met with has proved that tho popular comedian exploded with judgment, and discovered a public want. In order to reali»e fully many of tho places he describos he travels a special operator for the purpose of taking aud showing biograph pictures. Tho pictures are pronounced to i>9 the very finest yet seen in New Zealand. Mrs ft. G. Knowles, a noted banjo manipulator, will assist her husband. Tho plan is now at W. H. Paul's. Popular prices will be charged viz, 3s, 2s and Is. The tour is under Mr J. B. Williamson's direction.
