ATTEMPTED MURDER AND SUICIDE.

SYDNEY, May 8. William Brooks, who was just released after a lengthy sentence, visited his wife, who was residing in a hotel at Manly, shot her and then shot himself. He was drawing again to fire at the police when he dropped dead from his self-indicted wouud. The woman is in a critical condition.
