IMPERIAL POLITICS.
LONDON, May 8. In the House of Commons, Mr Winston Churchill states that the Colonial Conference will be entitled to discuss fiscal preference and any other matters of Imperial interest. Mr Wyndham, in a strenuous speech, moved the rejection of the Education Bill.
Sir Henry Fowler intimated that the Government would adhere to the two fundamental principles of public control and abolition of religious tests.
The debate was adjourned. 'LONDON, May 6. In the House of Commons Mr Keir Hardie, protested against the exclusion of the Labour party from membership of the committee to inquire into the housing of the working classes. Mr Whitley replied that they had previously given favoured treatment to Laborites, who sat on the Opposition side of the House. On these occassiona representation was given to Laborites on the Government side. He added that it was not intended to sacrifice the interests of the lattter to the Laborites who sat opposite.
