THE SHOW.

The third annual show of the Waikato Agri' cultural and Pastoral Association, which commences to-day, gives promise of being & distinct advance upon its predecessor, and should the weather ontinno fine there is little doubt chat the number of visitors will Kreatly exceed the attendance of forraei'' years. The executive committee and the secretary have been making strenuous exertions to have everything in readineos for the opening, and so far as it is possible' to, judge everything has been done neceiK sary to ensure success. The majority ol the implement exhibits werr in position" early yesterday, and the large marquee of the Cambridge Chrysanthemum Society' was in position and fitted out for the pitf'' pose for which it will be used to'da/ and to-morrow, namely, as luncheon' and refreshment rooms, bars, etc. Little or no alteration has been made in the arrangement of the yards, but the horse stands have been fitted with stays for their greater security. The stays are so placed as to form stalls each having' room for two exhibits. The secretary's' office has been removed from its incon' venient position under the grand stand to the centre of the sheep pens, a change that will be greatly appreciated by all having' any business to transact with that func tionary. Here either Mr Butler m his assistant will be in attendance throughout the whole of both days to attend to the requirements of exhibitors and officials. All the judges, with theexception nf M# Campbell of Whanganui, arrived in Hamil' ton yesterday and it i 3 expected that that geutleman will have ere this arrived at the' Manakau.

Amongst the attractions in the nature of side shows will be one of Edison's perfected phonographs. The refreshment booth will be in charge'' of Mr T. Buxton, of the Royal Hotel, the? luncheon will be provided by Mr T. Hill/ and Mr Home will administer to the v»ant8 v of the temperance public. The train arrangements for fco-morrov?'-have already been fully advertised, and should enable people from all parts of the district to spend the greater part of the day at the Show, and reach their homes at «' reasonable hour in the evening. Entertainments will be provided on both'' evenings of the Show days, hy the Hamilton Dramatic Club,,at the Volunt&er Hall.-To-night this efficient company will stage' "TheShraughraun,"and to-morrow night'they will present that evergreen drams " The Octoroon." '
