NEW SOUTH WALES PRODUCE IN CANADA.

The Canadian papers oontftin favourable potices of the Australian produce sent ■from Sydney through Captain J, C, Rounding to the Board of Trade for exhibition afc the Ottawa Conference, A. note received by Captain Rounding from ]Mr Willis, the secretary of the Board of Trade at Toronto, states thai the railway companies had delivered, the goods free of charge, while the Customhouse authorities had waived all olaiji for duty. With the exception of one case of wine, in which a bottle was broken, the goods arrived in first-class condition, and Mr' Willis expressed his admiration of the beautiful woods. Messrs Kirkwood, Lennon, and Co,, of Sudbury, Canada, in writing to Captain Rounding,-seemed to •think a trade with Australia in a number of articles would be possible. At the .moment of writing there was a'potato famine, prices ruling from Idol, 25 cents to Idol. 75 cents per 901b bag. Speaking of the samples the Montreal Gazette of 25th June observes" At the Board of Trade to-day- there .was on view a large lot. of samples of Australian produce, in* eluding wool, canned meats, butter, hard timber, tallow, Queensland raw sugar and syrups, and colonial wines. They are of a first-ilass character, and reflect credit on the colonies. : The wool samples are especially good." The butter, which is from Messrs J. Ireland arid Co., of Newcastle, N.S.W., is neatly packed in tins, while the samples of Queensland sugar appear to bo of a very high character, and can, it is said,' be laid down .cheaper in Montreal or Toronto than can East India sugar. The ' brano' or corned beef which was put up. by the Sydney Meat Preserving Company is a superior article, well preserved and packed, and better in flavour than most of the Chicago-packed meats of the same class generally sold in Canada." This testijnony as to the character of Australian produce is confirmed by other authorities, —Sydney Mail. '
