DROWNING FATALITY AT TE AROHA.
Wu regret to have to announce that one of the sons of Mr George Lipsoy, of Te Aroha, was drowned yesterday evening while out in a canoe on the rivor w:\r his father's house with another boy, Waldo Smith. From what we could learn last night it appears that the canoe swerved to one side, and the deceased, George Linsey, fell into the water, which at that particular mot was very deep with a swift current. Waldo Smith mit out a stick to him which hei caught hold of, hut in struggling pulled it out of his hand and he sank to the bottom Hβ was seen to come up three times and on the last occasion he put up his arms,' but
though his brother August, who was in another canoe further down the river, divud in to his rescue, he was unable to save him. Up to the time of our going to press the body had not been found. The deceased was only 10 years of age, and much sympathy is folt for his parents and family in their sad loss.—Te Aroha News.
