ROTORUA.
Mail Service.—The non-delivery of Auckland mails on the night of arrival is causing considerable dissatisfaction amongst tourists and residents. There is no reason why this unsatisfactory state of affairs should not be remedied. The postal authorities are usually sensitive to complaints in their department, but in this matter they have shown an indifference not at all to their credit, and the sooner they exhibit a desire to effect an improvement the better. Unless the mail coach strives by 8 p.m. these mails lire not sorted, and consequently people leaving by the coaches the following morning are unable to obtain their letters, and cases of considerable inconvenience have frequently resulted therefrom. The postal officials here are, as a rule, obliging, but it appears that, in accordance with the regulations of the Department, nothing in the way of businoss, such as sorting mails, can be done after 8 o'clock at night. I commend this matter to the attention of Mr Biss, Chief Postmaster, Auckland, in the hope that he will take some action in the direction required. Visitors.—The township is at present full of visitors, although a great many took their departure for Taupn and Auckland.
